(WVLT) -- If your Fourth of July plans include a trip to the lake, you don't want to hear that gasoline prices at local docks are now pushing five dollars a gallon.
Volunteer TV News spoke with several marinas on Norris Lake, and the average price Tuesday was $4.55 a gallon and up.
To fill up one of the houseboats on the water cost just short of $1,000 -- meaning that the cost of crude is cutting down on cruising.
Boater Matthew Zorvan says, "You don't go and cruise around the lake as much as you normally would. You find a cove, and you park and sit back and relax and take-in the good scenery up here."
Others we spoke with say they're not taking long vacations this summer, but saving their money instead so they can buy gas so they can go out boating.
