ROANE COUNTY (WVLT) – A Huntsville man was stabbed to death Saturday evening in Roane County.

Investigators said it happened around 5:00 PM at a home on Quarry Road in Harriman. Minutes before, they were called to the residence after witnesses heard Ricky Lynn Patterson, 41 of Oliver Springs threaten to kill David Lowe, 50.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Lowe had been stabbed in the stomach and witnesses told them Patterson had fled into the woods behind the home. EMS crews rushed Lowe to Roane Medical Center in Harriman where he was later pronounced dead.

Deputies pursued Patterson into the forest, and after a short foot chase he was taken into custody. As of early Sunday morning, he was being held in the Roane County Jail on a single charge of First Degree Murder. Patterson’s bond was set at $250,000 pending an upcoming hearing.
