SCOTT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Scott County man has been arrested and charged with killing his wife in January.

David Jones, 43, of Oneida, was indicted by a Scott County Grand Jury on a second degree murder charge and two counts of aggravated assault.

Sheriff Anthony Lay says a joint investigation by his deputies, the TBI, and Oneida Police showed Jones' wife, Dewanna Jones, died after a long history of domestic violence.

David Jones remains behind bars awaiting his day in court.

I am surprised the police department did anything. It might be because of the new sheriff. For nine years I have been stalked by my abusive ex and nothing has been done. May she get the justice she deserved not just for her but for us all.
