MORRISON, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities said a drunken driver crashed in to a couple's car in Morrison, killing them -- then ran away, leaving his injured girlfriend and her two injured children behind.
Police said 23-year-old Zachariah Holden of Pulaski was driving a sport utility vehicle that collided with a car Monday evening about 10 miles west of McMinnville.
Jesse Rayford Elam and his wife, Vada Elam, both 82, were killed.
Police said Holden ran from the accident scene on foot and was picked up nearly an hour later, but then bolted from a police car and was chased down in a bean field.
Holden's girlfriend, Heather Heck, and Heck's 4-year-old son were treated for injuries and released, but her 18-month-old son was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Holden faces several charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide.
Police said it was Holden's third offense both of DUI and driving on a revoked license.
