MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Sheriff's deputies in Shelby County said they arrested a man minutes after he used an emergency light and stopped a female motorist.
The department had received a call about someone stopping cars in the northern part of the county.
The Commercial Appeal reported Wednesday that deputies said there was a flashing light on the windshield of the white Chrysler 300 they spotted parked behind another car Saturday night.
Authorities said under questioning, the man said he stopped the woman to get her phone number.
Deputies said the suspect claimed to be a bounty hunter and had a gold badge and a pistol.
While he had a permit to carry the gun, his bounty hunter credentials and an armed security guard license were expired.
His name wasn't immediately released because authorities want to show his picture to other women who have been stopped.
