MORGAN COUNTY (WVLT) – A man was shot late Friday night in the Lancing community of Morgan County.

The sheriff’s department said the shooting occurred during a fight in the parking lot of Edna Mae’s Bar & Grill on Old Highway 27 Rd., about two miles north of Wartburg. LifeStar was called in to transport the victim, Les Barnaby to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

He was listed in critical conditional late Saturday morning.

The shooter has not been captured and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department is still conducting an investigation.

There was no fight. Doyle was trying to pull Les into the car and make it look like self defence. Les did hit Doyle after he had shot him twice and was taking the gun away from him when he spun the gun out of his hands and hit him in the face with the gun. Then he hit him again to keep from taking the gun away from him. Les then told Doyle to leave. Les could of cleared the jamed gun and killed him but he didn't. He brought the gun into the bar and laid it on the bar and asked where the hell was the police. He told his girl friend to call Life Star and not to take him nowhere but UT. He then laid down on the floor to keep from going into shock.

Just found out this moring that Les has made it through his 4th surgery ok. They did leave him open after this surgery for observation, he has contracted staph infection, not out of the woods yet but he's still hanging in there! And as for the person that left the comment about the satellite boxes, I'm sure everyone understands the situation.

Les, hang in there bro. If the guy who shot him was a retired Troop-why was he at a bar with a gun....What no Dept policy against that? They should yank his CCW and prosicute him no matter what kind of "good guy" he is!!!!!!!

Les is a good friend of mine for many years. This is hard to believe that something like this would happen to him and nothing has been done about it. Les... you are in my thoughts and prayers! The family is wishing you the best and a speedy recovery! We have alot of Harley riding left to do, don't leave us yet!
