KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Earlier, we showed you about a new DNA test that became available to find out what breeds are in your dog, and we tested Volunteer TV's Stephen McLamb's dog, Astro. Now, we have the results.
Is Astro what Stephen thought she was?
Well, eight years ago he was told that Astro's mother was full a blooded Rottweiler and the dad was a full blooded Labrador Retriever, so Stephen expected to see half Lab, half Rottweiller, but that wasn't the case.
After her DNA test at EDP Biotech Corporation, Astro showed to be a level two Rottweiler meaning her mother was a Rottweiler, but she also had some Lab, Collie, and Shetland Sheepdog in her.
It was quite a surprise for Stephen after believing otherwise for eight years, but what does the laboratory say about her desire to eat okra?
Chief Administrative Officer Meg Retinger says, "That's the one thing...we have searched our databank, and we have not been able to find that as an attribute to any of the breeds."
