FALL BRANCH, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Former Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Charlene Green, 32, resigned from her job instead of being terminated after being accused of neglecting her duty by failing to submit traffic citations to courts of record, according to the Tennessee Department of Safety.

A TDOS release says, "The allegations include possible criminal violations, as well as violations of departmental policies."

Tennessee Department of Safety Commissioner David Mitchell recommend that Green be barred from future employment with the State of Tennessee.

THP Colonel Mike Walker plans to notify the P.O.S.T. commission of Green's alleged conduct and recommend that she be decertified as a law officer.

Green was assigned to Claiborne County in the Fall Branch District after being commissioned in January 2004, according the TDOS release.
