NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A recent report by a state research group shows most of the growth in Tennessee within the last 10 years remains concentrated among a small number of its counties.
Specifically, the Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations report shows the growth is in the Nashville, Knoxville and Clarksville regions.
Cliff Lippard, associate executive director of TACIR, says those regions are outpacing the rest of the state in terms of growth, employment, income, population and wages.
He says the report doesn't offer any solutions, but seeks to identify the concentration areas in an attempt to encourage discussion about the challenges faced by rapid and slow growing communities.
