KNOXVILLE (WVLT) – The East Knoxville home in which Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom were beaten, raped and murdered after being carjacked will be demolished on Wednesday morning.

Records from the Knox County Property Assessor’s office indicate Waste Connections of Tennessee Inc., purchased the home at 2316 Chipman Street for $17,500 in September. Its previous owner was Jack W. King.

At 8:00 AM, crews will begin tearing it down. Once they have cleared it, the company plans to build a small memorial park for Christian and Newsom on the site.

You can watch the demolition live starting at 7:50 AM right here on VolunteerTV.com

Finally, more closure for the families of Chris & Channon. It is about time a monument or park was placed where only horror rang out those nights. This is just one step closer to being over.
