KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox County Sheriff's Department is trying to piece together a mystery surrounding skeletal remains found Wednesday, Nov. 26, on some Midway Road property in East Knox County, deputies say.
The Sheriff's office says, "Two men who own property at 2424 Midway Road where the remains were found were out walking around 3:00 o’clock when they came upon the skeleton and called 911."
It's not clear how the remains got there, or who the deceased person was.
University of Tennessee Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Murry Marks is examining the bones.
