WVLT Pinpoint 8 Weather Center -- Cloud cover is moving across the region Saturday and dropping flurries in the Valley. The Smokies and Northeast Tennessee are an entirely different story.
There's a winter weather advisory in affect until 10 p.m. for Greene, Hancock, and Hawkins counties. But surrounding counties are also seeing some snow showers.
Visibility is reduced is many areas, especially when a heavier snow shower moves through. Visibility can be as bad as only 1/4 of a mile at times.
The roads can be slick in some areas, especially on bridges and overpasses. The Tennessee Department of Transportation is showing patches of snow and ice starting East of Jefferson City and moving North and East all the way to the state lines. TDOT is also reporting patches of snow and ice on Interstate 75, starting just North of Lake City and up to the state line.
Accumulation is generally less than 1 inch but can get up to 2 to 3 inches in some areas.
Be extra careful out there and you can see your Volunteer TV full weather update at 7:30 and again at 11 tonight.
