Trapped Madisonville caver rescued, suffering from mild hypothermia

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A man is rescued after becoming trapped while exploring a cave in a rugged part of Monroe County Thursday night.
Monroe County Rescue Squad Volunteers responded to the cave off Red River Road about 7:15 p.m.
Steven Sloan, 20, of Madisonville had been trapped for about an hour when rescuers arrived.
The East Tennessee Cave Rescue team and Hamilton County Cave Rescue team also responded.
A vertical rescue team from the Knoxville Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad was also activated.
Just after 9:30 p.m. rescue workers announced Sloan had been rescued.
He was suffering from a mild case of hypothermia.
