FRIENDSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Crews spent the day attempting to raise a houseboat from a Blount County marina.
The 35-footer sunk Monday, spilling several gallons of gasoline as it went down.
Air bags are being used to raise the houseboat while it's in it's slip at International Harbor Marina in Friendsville.
The harbormaster says emergency personnel were called once the boat was discovered to be leaking gasoline.
Electricity was cut off to the area and boats were not allowed to crank their engines as they began to clean up the gas which is now contained.
Harbormaster Charles Edmondson says, "When they left last night they said they were pretty comfortable that they'd gotten most of it and that they would be here probably Thursday atgain to finish any little things they needed to finish."
Edmondson says he's been unable to reach the houseboat's owner thus far.
