Traffic is back to normal, after a massive pile up on 1-75.
There were nearly a dozen wrecks on the interstate sending several people to the hospital.
State troopers say the accidents were all caused by the weather.
A morning commute in Jellico turned into chaos.
State trooper Mike Turley says, "It's the first in my career to see this many."
There were 10 wrecks total.
A tow truck hauls away a wrecked car, truck and a camper.
A tractor trailer slid off the highway just feet from a rock face mountain.
30 vehicles in all were taken off course by the icy road conditions.
Turley says, "Interstate got slick and vehicles just lost control."
The calls started coming in around 8--then poured in for an hour.
Traffic was at a standstill for miles after the northbound lanes were shut down.
Several people were taken to local hospitals.
No one was killed.
As you go into higher elevations, troopers remind you road conditions can worsen.
Turley says, "It might be raining in Knoxville, but it might be snowing or sleeting up here make the conditions a little bit worse make the roads slippery."
So remember to use caution when driving through the mountains, it could keep this from happening to you.

I have worked hundreds of wrecks over my career and used to hear people take responsibility for their actions in wrecks. However, isn't odd how these days it is the rain or snow that causes wrecks. I say rain and snow can't drive but the people who drive and shouldn't or can't are the ones causing wrecks. I know that there are circumstances but, that is probably about 1% who actually get caught or have to be out in bad weather. As far as the rain goes 80 mph. just isn't going get it and then when they go out control it was the rains' fault. No I say "Rain cannot drive".
