East Tennessee middle school teacher indicted on child porn charges
A Washington County middle school teacher has been indicted on federal child pornography charges.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Washington County middle school teacher has been indicted on federal child pornography charges.
Officials with the US Department of Justice said the indictment was handed down against Anthony Kent Holcombe, 43 of Jonesborough on April 15th. It charges him with distribution, receipt, and possession of child pornography.
Holcombe has since resigned his post as a Title I reading teacher and track coach at Jonesborough Middle School.
The investigation was conducted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The DOJ hasn’t said what evidence was in the case.
If convicted, Holcombe faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for the first two charges as well as 10 years for the third charge. He could also receive a maximum fine of $250,000 on each count as well as lifetime supervised release.
His trial is scheduled for June 25th, 2009.
