Family searches for missing Cocke County teen
Family and friends of a missing Cocke County teen are helping police with the search. 19 year-old Megan Maxwell was last heard from early Sunday morning. Her burned out car was found hours later along highway 25/70 in Newport, but no sign of the missing teen. A big group gathered this morning to scour the woods on foot to find some clue that might lead them to their beloved Megan.

Family and friends of a missing Cocke County teen are helping police with the search.
19 year-old Megan Maxwell was last heard from early Sunday morning.
Her burned out car was found hours later along highway 25/70 in Newport, but no sign of the missing teen.
A big group gathered this morning to scour the woods on foot to find some clue that might lead them to their beloved Megan.Prayers brought everyone together this morning.
Jon Walton says, "You know how much we care. You know how much we love Megan."
Friends fought back tears and held hands as they started their desperate search for missing Megan.
They split into groups with printed and highlighted maps, and they started their hunt for some piece of evidence.
Megan's Mom Lisa Maxwell says, "Finding her alive would be the best mother's day present ever ever."
Megan's mom looked in the woods, others looked around and inside old barns, and on the railroad tracks.
Nothing turned up.
Newport Police Chief Maurice Shults says, "We've utilized every piece of personnel and equipment that we have."
Officers who have been searching rivers and roads since Sunday morning are thankful for the citizen's help.
Newport Police Chief Maurice Shults says, "We want to be able to bring some closure to the family we want to close this missing persons incident."
They warned volunteers to be very careful during their search.
Newport Police Chief Maurice Shults says, "It is vitally, vitally important that you do not disturb anything that you see."
They didn't see anything.
Megan's mom says the pursuit isn't over.
Megan's Mom Lisa Maxwell says, "Tomorrow will be another day. I'm going to keep on until I find her I'm not going to stop."

I THINK THE WHOLE COUNTY NEEDS TO COME TOGETHER AND GET OUT AND HELP DO ANYTHING WE CAN DO TO HELP THIS FAMILY WHAT IF IT WAS ONE OF OURS WE WOULD BE WANTING ALL THE HELP WE COULD GET I WAS OUT TODAY WITH A BUNCH OF OTHERS SEARCHING FOR ANY CLUE OR THING THAT MIGHT HELP

To Megans family....Minesotans are praying for you and her safe return. Dont give up. We look at her picture and see a BEAUTIFUL young woman with a bright furture.Wishing you the best. Prayers and love to her and family and everyone searching
