Emory River at flood stage in Morgan County; some roads closed

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- The Emory River has hit flood stage level as it passes through Oakdale in Morgan County.
The National Weather Service shows the river level at 27.91 feet at 6:30 a.m. this morning. It was expected to crest there. It was forecasted to receed a bit to 27.2 feet at 8 a.m.
There are some road closings in the area due to localized flooding, according to Morgan County EMA Director Jody Zorsch. Specifically Clifty Creek Road in Oakdale.
Volunteer TV's Stephen McLamb reports at least one person had to be rescued from a car stuck in high waters off Clifty Creek Road.
There are also some flooded roads in Roane County near Harriman, according to EMA Chief Howie Roase. Riggs Chapel Road in Harriman is closed.
So far there have been no evacuations due to flooding in either county.
Crews are keeping an eye on the Emory River in Oakdale around the Riverview Road area. That's an area prone to flooding in the past.

To give you an idea of how quick the water rises, the Emory River was at 4 and a half feet around 2 a.m. Saturday morning. By Sunday night at 11 p.m. it was at 16.5 feet, and by 5 a.m. Monday it hit flood stage at 27 feet.
