SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Troopers say a single motorcycle accident is to blame for the death of a George woman late Friday night near Pigeon Forge.
It happened around 10:30 PM on Wears Valley Road.
Investigators say Karen C. Posey of Hartwell, Georgia was the passenger on the motorcycle when the driver lost control going around a curve and crossed over the white line on the shoulder. The bike lost traction on the loose gravel and overturned when the driver tried to correct his steering. They came to a rest near the intersection of Trace Way.
The THP report indicates drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been involved.
