KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Anderson County Deputies arrested two people accused of running an indoor marijuana growing operation discovered when police executed a search warrant on June 10 at a home on Nig Longmire Road in Andersonville, according to an Anderson County Sheriff's Office release.
Kenneth Fredrick Kanipes, Jr., 45, was arrested Monday, and Shirley Diane Smith, 43, was arrested Wednesday. Both are charged with manufacture, delivery, sell and possession of Marijuana. Kanipes was released on a $10,000 bond. Smith is still behind bars held on a $75,000 bond.
Deputies say they found 151 pot plants ranging from new growth to five feet tall. Officers say they also seized lights and other items used to grow and sell marijuana.
The pair rented the home, and officers say the homeowner was not aware of the grow operation and was not involved in any way.
