FENTRESS COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Three large oil storage takes caught fire at a Fentress County oil well Thursday afternoon after an apparent lightning strike. No one was injured.
One of the nearly 9,000 gallon tanks exploded, according to Jarvis Drilling spokesman Jeff Gallowaway.
The fire was reported by a passerby around 12:45 p.m. CST, at 5100 Mt. Helen Rd. in the Allard Community.
Between 500 and 1,000 gallons of oil spilled from the tank, but the spill was contained to the company's property.
The fire was out about two hours after it was reported.
