ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Lake City man with a history of drug, theft and firearm related arrest is once again in trouble.
U.S. Marshals arrested Michael Rodney Sharp, 41 on Friday for violating his federal pretrial release.
Sharp’s troubles with federal authorities date back to August 2007 when he was arrested on drug charges. During that raid, agents discovered a cache of weapons, which lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to charge him with being a felon in possession of a firearm two months later.
Sharp was arrested again in March 2008 on theft charges.
On June 5th, 2009, an Anderson County Grand Jury indicted Sharp on new charges related to his August 2008 and March 2008 arrests. He posted a $50,000 bond on June 6th.
U.S. Marshals took Sharp into custody Friday morning at his home on Bolin Road. Agents brought him in after learning of the indictment early in the month. They say it specifically violated the terms of his supervised pretrial release.

This man is either incapable of following his conditions of release or simple chooses to ignore them. Either way he has failed to comply and therefore needs to remain incarcerated for as long as legally possible.
