ATHENS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Charges are pending against a Lenoir City man after he allegedly shot a man at a home 625 Virginia Ave. in Athens.
Athens Police identify Bradley Wayne Adams, 27, 93 Thacker Lane in Lenoir City, as the suspect in the shooting.
According to a news release, witnesses told police that Adams was shot in the hand elsewhere and came to the residence looking for the person who shot him.
Witnesses told police that Adams came to the house with another man, and Hewitt answered the door. Adams and Hewitt then got into an argument, police say.
Witnesses in another room told police that they heard a gunshot, and heard Adams ask, "Who else wants some?"
The witnesses then say they tried to get the gun from Adams when it went off, striking Chase Bevis in the abdomen.
Police recovered a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun from the scene.
Athens Police Department Administrative Captain Frank Horning could not say what charges Adams faces, suggesting it will depend on whether Hewitt survives his injuries.
