Sexual predator on 22 charges, had attempted to fake his death
An East Tennessee judge has sentenced the convicted sex offender who attempted to fake his own dead in North Carolina.

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – An East Tennessee judge has sentenced the convicted sex offender who attempted to fake his own dead in North Carolina.
Kevin Allen Gentry, 37 was given a total sentence of 63 years in prison as well as $330,000 in fines. Jurors convicted him on April 24th, 2009 on 12 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Deputies originally charged Gentry in 2005 after using a search warrant to find child pornography featuring him and multiple girls under the age of 16. They also uncovered other images of underage females posed nude inside his home.
That same year he was charged with child rape but fled the charges and allegedly attempted to take his own death Nags Heads, North Carolina. U.S. Marshals later took him back into custody in Marlboro County, South Carolina where he was found with one of his previous victims.
Gentry was later convicted of raping a nine year old girl and is currently serving 25 years in prison. The new sentence will run at the same time as the rape sentence, keeping him behind bars for the 38 years.
