LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Loudon County man has been federally indicted on drug and weapon charges.
Deputies executed a search warrant on Justin Lynn’s Spring Street home in Philadelphia on May 27th, 2009. Inside they found prescription pain killers, muscle relaxers, more than an ounce of marijuana and $5,000 in cash. In Lynn’s bedroom they also found a loaded shotgun, ammunition, digital scales and multiple crack pipes.
Lynn is already a convicted felon which led to agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to file go to the U.S. Attorney General’s Office for an indictment. The indictment was handed down on June 18th.
“If we have cases that can go to the federal courts, it is sometimes better to prosecute on a federal level,” said Sheriff Tim Guider of the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office. “That’s because the sentencing guidelines have harsher penalties than that of the state’s guidelines.
Lynn now faces up to ten years in prison under the federal guidelines.
