KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville man charged with shooting a red light camera in North Knoxville no longer faces criminal charges in that case.

Knox County Judge Mary Beth Liebowitz dismissed the case against Clifford Clark last week after declaring two pieces of evidence inadmissible.

In November 2007, Clark was immediately removed from his van and cuffed after police responding to a call about shots fired saw him in the vicinity of the damaged red light camera on Broadway at I-640.

Judge Liebowitz ruled a police search of Clark's vehicle, which turned up a rifle, improper.

Additionally, the state was unable to provide the camera cover that had been shot for defense ballistics testing, so that evidence was also suppressed.

Video interview with Mr Clark, revealing why charges were suddenly dismissed in this case. It seems that Mr Clark's attorney subpoenaed a Knox County deputy who says that a Knox County deputy confessed to shooting a redlight camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25wIadTDcXo Certain people would not want that testimony on TV and in the public record. The Redflex contract was cancelled "for suspected bribery and contract fraud" less than one week after Cliff Clark's lawyer Ron Newcomb confirmed that Knox County deputy sheriffs were confessing to shooting redlight cameras in Knoxville... Is that why public access TV was banned from the courtroom in this trial, to prevent The People from hearing sworn testimony from Knoxville cops that Knoxville cops shoot things then blame innocent people? Enquiring minds want to know when Big Brother runs amok. http://piratenews-tv.blogspot.com/2009/02/pirate-news-tv-banned.html http://www.piratenews.org/kill-robocops.html
