Former State Justice Charles O'Brien Dies At Age 86
Former Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Charles H. O'Brien died Thursday at age 86.

Crossville, Tenn. (AP) -- Former Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Charles H. O'Brien died Thursday at age 86.
He was married to well-known former State Senator Anna Belle Clement O'Brien.
O'Brien was elected to the State Court of Criminal Appeals in 1970, and he served there until then-Governor Ned McWherter named him to the state high court in 1987.
He retired from the bench in 1994.
O'Brien had been in the hospital in his hometown of Crossville for a couple of weeks before his death.
Before joining the court, O'Brien served in the state legislature from 1963 to 1966.
His funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Tansi Community Church in Crossville.
