Campbell County man arrested in prescription drug bust
A Campbell County man was arrested Tuesday night following a prescription pill bust in LaFollette.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Campbell County man was arrested Tuesday night following a prescription pill bust in LaFollette.
LaFollette Police officials said the department’s Special Response Team and 8TH Judicial Drug Force executed a narcotics search warrant at a home on S. Massachusetts Avenue around 9:45 p.m.
From the home they ended up seizing a large amount of prescription pills and cash.
Donnie Carroll of LaFollette was taken into custody and charged with possession for the intent to resell drugs which violate Schedule II, Schedule III and Schedule IV of the Controlled Substances Act.
A Schedule II controlled substance is defined as a drug or substance that is accepted as having a use in medicine but also has a high potential for abuse and may lead to severe psychological or physical dependency. Examples include amphetamines, cocaine, methadone, morphine and Oxycodone.
A Schedule III controlled substance is defined as a drug or substance that is accepted as having a use in medicine, but with less potential for abuse than Schedule I or II drugs. It may also lead to moderate or low physical dependence or high psychological dependence. Examples include anabolic steroids, ketamine, and hydrocodone when combined with Tylenol or ibuprofen.
A Schedule IV controlled substance is defined as a drug or substance with a lower potential for abuse than schedule III drugs. They are accepted as having a use in medicine but may lead to limited physical or psychological dependency. Examples include Xanax, Valium, Ambien, and Provigil.
