CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – The 127 Corridor Sale’s going on this weekend.
The annual four day long event is known as “The World’s Longest Yard Sale.”
Each year nearly 5,000 people line up along U.S. Highway 127’s 654 miles of roadway which stretching from West Unity, Ohio to Gadsden, Alabama.
WVLT Volunteer TV News stopped by a portion of the highway in Crossville on Thursday morning. It was only 8:00 a.m., but a large crowd was already sifting through old gadgets and knick-knacks from several Cumberland County yard sales.
The range of goods up for sale ranged from chairs and tables full of china to aging road signs.
“It's interesting,” said Wade Pittillo who came from South Carolina just to shop. “You never know what you're going to see sometimes. You can find bargains though sometimes it's just somebody trying to sell their junk just so you can take it home and sell it to somebody else"
The 127 Corridor Sale is headquartered in Fentress County and has been running for the last 22 years. You can read more about it by clicking on the link below.
