HAMBLEN COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Talbott man was arrested Thursday after a Hamblen County Grand Jury indicted him on several charges related to child pornography.
Jeremiah Stallans, 28 of Greenbriar Road was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Morristown Police Department. The arrest came four days after a grand jury indicted for two counts of with Especially Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and Exploitation of a Minor.
Morristown Police officials said they finally scored the indictment after an intense three month investigation of Stallans. According to the department, they received the case from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office who originally made contact with the Talbott man while conducting an online investigation. When deputies learned Stallans was from Hamblen County, they handed the case over to the MPD Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
In May 2009, MPD and the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at Stallans’ home. During their search they discovered a home computer with more than 100 images of child pornography and between 50 and 100 child porn videos. Investigators also found two homemade pornographic videos made on a personal video camera that involved minors.
“These types of investigations are very involved and time consuming,” said Det. Michael O’Keefe, MPD lead investigator on the case in a news release on the arrest. “The end result, however, is very satisfying; knowing that we are taking a child predator off of the streets.”
Stallans was booked in to the Hamblen County Jail and remained their Thursday night on a $90,000 bond. If convicted he faces up to 30 years in prison on each charge.
