LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – Two people have been arrested in Loudon County on aggravated burglary charges.
The sheriff’s department said the incident began around 9:30 p.m. Monday when a woman called 911 from her neighbor’s home and told dispatchers she had just fled her own home on Riverchase Drive because two people dressed in black were trying to break in.
Deputies were on the scene within five minutes and set up a perimeter. K-9 units were also called in and quickly caught a juvenile suspect in some woods nearby the home. Moments later a K-9 unity picked up a scent that led him into Fort Loudon Lake. K-9 Diego jumped into the lake and swam to a bank on the other side of the cove where he apprehended the second suspect, George Locklear.
Both suspects were charged with aggravated burglary and confessed to the attempted break in. At the time of his arrest, deputies said Locklear was already under investigation for several burglaries in Loudon County. He was questioned by the Criminal Investigations Unit, which allegedly lead to solving at least six other burglaries.
Some items from those crimes have already been recovered and others may be arrested as a result of the investigation.
The juvenile suspect wasn’t named and will face hearing in Juvenile Court.
