JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – A fire ripped through a Strawberry Plains trailer early Thursday afternoon.

The New Market Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Team was called to the scene on Blue Springs Road around 1:55 p.m. By the time they got there, a significant amount of smoke could already be seen coming from inside.

About 15 crew members ended up using two fire engines and one tanker truck to extinguish the flames. They finally had every under control by about 2:45 p.m.

According to Capt. Sammy Solomon, the trailer was owned by a Talbott woman and rented by Steve Britt. Britt apparently did not have insurance on the trailer or contents inside, and the total loss was valued at around $30,000.
