Gatlinburg man arrested on drug, outstanding warrant charges

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Gatlinburg man wanted in Knox County was arrested on a variety of charges Friday afternoon in Sevier County.

Sevierville Police pulled Robert S. Potter II, 26 over when he allegedly ran the stop light at the intersection of Parkway and Forks of the River Parkway. During the stop the officer discovered Potter was driving on a suspended driver’s license and was wanted by Knox County authorities on a warrant for failing to appear in court on a theft charge.

The officer took Potter into custody and searched his vehicle. Inside he found 75 grams or about two and a half ounces of what appeared to be marijuana, four Roxicodone pills and two pipes. He was booked into the Sevier County Jail for distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a synthetic narcotic, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, and failure to obey a traffic control device. He was also being held on his failure to appear warrant out of Knox County.
