KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Convicted killer Letalvis Cobbins has been moved to a maximum-security prison.
The 26-year-old Cobbins was convicted in August of first-degree murder in the Knoxville torture slaying of Channon Christian and facilitating the murder of her boyfriend Christopher Newsom in 2007.
The victims' families were outraged to learn Cobbins was sent to a medium-security prison to serve his life-without-parole sentence.
After receiving a complaint from state Sen. Tim Burchett of Knoxville, Correction Commissioner George Little decided that maximum-security West Tennessee State Penitentiary would be more appropriate.
Corrections spokeswoman Dorinda Carter says Cobbins arrived Monday at the penitentiary.
Meanwhile, Cobbins' brother, Lemaricus Davidson, was taken to Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville within hours of being sentenced to death Friday in the Christian-Newsom slayings.

I live in toronto canada and have heard of these inhumane crimes by these SKUZBAGS.Justice should be swift and permanent for them all.We all know what happened to johnny cochcran for defending simpson perhaps the same fate will beset the defence attorneys in this case.
I saw parts of this trial and i was shocked by how much the convicted brothers showed no sign of remorse. Whether or not you agree with the death penalty is irrelevant. The fact is that anyone who could do such a heinous crime and not even show a shred or regret is beyond any form of help an reform institution such as prison can offer. Sociopaths like this must be permanently removed from our society in order to safeguard good law abiding citizens
