Knoxville (WVLT) – Two men police say are responsible for graffiti throughout the city have been arrested according to the Knoxville Police.
In a joint conference with the City of Knoxville, the Knoxville Police Department announced the arrest of 21-year-old Seth David Calehuff who uses the tag name "Mind" and 21-year-old Christopher Douglas Jones who uses the tag name "Bantr".
"I want to emphasize that painting graffiti on our buildings and structures won't be tolerated and we will continue to pursue and prosecute the offenders," says Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam.
Knoxville Police Chief Sterling Owen, IV, says on the evening of March 17th officers responding to a suspicious persons call near a viaduct at Middlebrook Pike and I-640 observed the two men preparing to "tag" a wall.
As a result of that arrest, and the following investigation, the two men were charged on a 19 count indictment earlier this week.
Seth David "Mind" Calehuff was indicted on 12 felony and misdemeanor charges, his bond is set at $5,000. Christopher Douglas "Bantr" Jones was indicted on 7 felony and misdemeanor charges, his bond is set at $2,500.
Mayor Haslam added, "As part of the punishment for this crime, we're asking that anyone caught and convicted for painting graffiti be made to help with the cleanup, both by having to physically get in there and scrub it off and also by having to pay for it."

Anyone know how I can get in contact with either of these graffiti guys?
Painter you are idiot. Could you paint like lime? These vandals need to fall off a building or get shot? Thats way overdrawn. Its amazing how people are threatened by graffiti. Graffiti is not going nowhere. It is never going to stop. It has been here since ancient times. What about crooked authorities on power trips and idiots. It isn't overdrawn for them to fall off a building or get shot. Worry about real problems like drugs, murderers ect...
Make a "legal wall" (or wallS)designated for graffiti like most cities have in the US and other countries. Why not let this guys decorate the abandoned nasty looking buildings in the city??? It will reduce this problem greatly just like a skatepark reduces the chance of having kids skateboarding all over downtown and grinding on every ledge they see.
