KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - If you're doing your Christmas shopping early you may see your best bargains yet with some door busting sales around town this weekend. Stores are slashing prices and extending hours to accommodate your needs and their own.
It's a weekend made for shoppers.
"We've come for sales! Come to shop all the bargains."
But it's also a good time for retailers. With extended hours and huge savings, shoppers, and retailers hope to hit it big this weekend.
"We're having our biggest sale of them all. It's our introduction to the holiday season," says James Suarez, store manager at JCPenny's.
After retailers posted their best October sales in more than a year, they're anxious for more.
"It's an excellent opportunity to get people, customers, into our store and let them see what we have to offer for the holiday season," says Suarez.
JCPenny's will open their doors at 7 AM and stay open until midnight Saturday with sales on everything from coats to kitchenware.
Shoppers say between the coupons and the sales they can save 20% sometimes 30%, which helps quite a bit, especially with the way the economy has been.
But they're not the only ones - Several stores are boasting big sales, low prices and doorbusters.
Target is holding big sales because they know shoppers are out early this season.
(Kathy) "Because of the way the economy is this year, that they've decided to up the sales a little bit sooner," says Kathy Yaezel, store team manager at Target.
Hot items on Target's sale lists - TVs and toys.
"Because they know there's not going to be a lot of inventory in a lot of markets, so they're trying to get what their children are asking for early," says Yeazel.
And this year, if you come early, you get some of the best deals.
"Certainly the best buy of the day makes you feel good."
Stores like Toys R Us and Sears have ads boasting "lowest prices of the season" and "black Friday now".
You can save even more by checking flyers, clipping coupons and comparing prices.
