MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- An East Tennessee man faces arson charges after a barn, then a house were set afire within minutes of each other.
A Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said 22-year-old Timothy Mitchell was being held in jail Monday morning, charged with arson, aggravated arson and parole violation.
The fires broke out in separate locations early Saturday.
The Associated Press reported deputies used a bloodhound to link the crime scenes with an article of Mitchell's clothing being used for scent.
The station reported Mitchell confessed during a police interview.
The sheriff's office said there was no indication Mitchell had hired an attorney.
