Knoxville (WVLT) - A suspect in the carjacking and murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom faces new charges in connection with a robbery two days after the carjacking.
A Knox County Grand Jury indicted Davidson on 6 charges including aggravated robbery, attempted robbery, aggravated assault, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
According to the presentment signed on May 8th, Davidson allegedly robbed a Pizza Hut at gunpoint on January 8th.
That same day, he allegedly attempted to steal a woman's purse.
That's the same day Newsom's body was found along rairoad tracks near Ninth Avenue.
Christian's body was found January 9th, in a home Davidson rented.
The weapons charges stem from his use of the gun, which is illegal for a convicted felon.
Davidson was convicted of carjacking in Madison County, Tennessee in January of 2001.
Thursday, Davidson, and three other alleged accomplices: Latavius Cobbins, George Thomas, and Vanessa Coleman appeared in a Knox County courtroom to face the 46 count indictment connected to the murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.
A judge set trial dates in the case.
