LaFollette, Campbell County (WVLT) - An anonymous tip leads police to a mobile meth lab in the middle of Downtown LaFollette.
According to an officer on the scene, LPD received a tip that a meth sale would take place in Downtown LaFollette.
Officers say they noticed two men, Jeffery Scott Meadows and Stephen Holstein, acting “suspicious” in front of Smith Hardware Store.
Police say the two men were attempting to shoplift red lye, a product used to make meth.
Officers tell WVLT a search of the area uncovered a car parked outside the store with a meth lab inside.
"It’s a minor lab, it’s more for personal use, but with the amount of cash they both had on them it was quite obvious they had been selling, what they had been selling, we can only surmise, but I bet it was methamphetamine," says Chris Luethge, from the LaFollette Police Department.
Both Meadows and Holstein are charged with Promotion to Manufacture Meth, Felony Possession of Meth and Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
