KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – Deputies have arrested the live-in girlfriend of a Knox County man found murdered over the weekend.
Authorities said Vickie Perry, 50 was taken into custody on theft charges after they discovered the body of Roe Tolliver, 77 in his Deaderick Road home on February 6th. Perry was apparently found in Strawberry Plains, and allegedly had some of the missing items in her possession.
Tolliver’s nephew first grew suspicious of foul play when he hadn’t heard from his uncle in weeks. On Saturday he broke into a side window of Tolliver’s South Knox County home and discovered him dead.
Next door neighbors told Volunteer TV News on Monday afternoon that Tolliver was married, but his wife lived in a nearby nursing home. They also said he had a younger female friend living with him.
The Knox County Medical Examiner released the results of Tolliver’s autopsy Monday night, stating his cause of death was multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma. Investigators also said he had been dead several days before his body was discovered.
Sheriff’s office officials said Perry admitted to them she had had an argument with Tolliver on January 24th. She was charged with second degree murder following the autopsy report. She remains in the Knox County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
