GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Gatlinburg Police uncovered skeletal remains Saturday morning and investigators believe it is linked to a 2002 case.
The scene was taped off near the Ace Hardware Store on US Hwy. 321.
The remains are believed to be those of Vladimir Yemelyanov and Sufiya Arslanova who were reported missing in July of 2002.
Further testing will confirm their identities.
In May of 2004 a Sevier County Grand Jury indicted Yuriy Solovyev with the two counts of 1st degree murder and two counts of felony murder.
The three Russian immigrants were roommates at an apartment complex in Gatlinburg at the time of their disappearance.
The Gatlinburg Police Department is continuing the investigation with the assistance of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
