KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Arson investigators are reportedly looking into a Tuesday evening fire in North Knoxville.
The fire was first spotted just after 8:30 p.m. at a home in the 2200 block of Virginia Avenue in the Western Heights community. Knoxville Fire Department officials haven’t released much information about the fire.
Reports from the scene indicate neighbors called 911 after spotting smoke coming from the roof of the home. When crews arrived at the house, there was already a towering cloud of smoke rising up from the roof. The fire was brought under control within a half hour.
The cause of the fire remained unknown late Tuesday night. Arson investigators had been called to the scene to begin going over the charred interior of the home.
