KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Chapman Highway was reopened just before 11:00 p.m. Wednesday after a four vehicle accident in South Knox County.
It happened just before 9:30 p.m., about a quarter mile south of John Sevier Highway near the intersection of Chapman Highway and W. Marine Road.
Emergency crews said it was caused when a vehicle headed north on Chapman Highway crossed over the center line and struck a car head-on that had been driving south. The collision caused a chain reaction that caused two more cars driving south to also crash.
Reports from the scene indicate at least one driver had to be cut from their car.
Authorities told Volunteer TV News that a man and women in separate vehicles were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, but neither had suffered life threatening injuries.
