SUV wreck closes 11E, victim flown to UT
A single vehicle accident in Jefferson County shut down part of Hwy 11E Wednesday evening.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A single vehicle accident in Jefferson County shut down part of Hwy 11E Wednesday evening.
Capt. Sammy Solomon from the New Market Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad said it happened just before 6:00 p.m. when a white Ford Bronco crashed into a wooded area just east of “Plants and Things” in the 2500 block of Andrew Johnson Highway.
The rescue squad was on the scene in minutes and had to spend about 20 minutes cutting a victim from the sport-utility vehicle.
LifeStar was called in and the person who was extracted from the vehicle and flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. A second person in the vehicle was taken to UT by ambulance.
The names and conditions of both patients haven’t been released.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol was still investigating the crash Wednesday night.
