UNION COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – An Ohio woman was killed Wednesday morning after slamming her car into a tree in Union County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol report on the accident states the crash occurred just after 9:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Wolfe Road in Luttrell.
Troopers wrote that Jennifer C. Freeman, 42 of Oberlin, Ohio was driving east when she lost control of her sedan while going around a curve. The car began sliding, went off the south side of the roadway and went driver’s side first into a tree.
Freeman was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Neither was a 17 year old female passenger in the car from Madisonville. The passenger was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
THP has requested drug and alcohol testing on Freeman and the teen to determine if either played a role in the crash.
