Small plane crashes in South Knoxville
A small plane crashed into Fort Loudoun Lake in South Knoxville around 5:30 Thursday with two people on board, Knoxville Fire Captain DJ Corcoran confirms.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A small plane crashed into Fort Loudoun Lake in South Knoxville around 5:30 Thursday with two people on board, Knoxville Fire Captain DJ Corcoran confirms.
He says there were two people in the four-seater plane when it crashed while attempting to land at Island Home Airport.
The victims are out of the wreckage, and have minor injuries, Corcoran says. The refused treatment at the scene, Volunteer TV's Allison Kropff reports.
The two men are from Knoxville and were returning from a business trip to Tampa, Fla.
On the way to Island Home Airport, they reported engine trouble in the single-engine SR22 plane.
