A Helping Hand Given to Knoxville Woman

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - With many "thank yous," Peggy Boatman spent Saturday helping her co-workers do something she's wanted to do for a long time.

Boatman, an employee of WIVK, currently works and tends to her husband, and elderly mother-in-law. A few years ago she hired a contractor to build a deck on the back of her house. However, the work was only half finished.

"It's awesome, I mean you can see the change already and this is the people I work with at WIVK," said Boatman. "My heart just, I'm touched. To feel the love with people I work with you say something you need and they're here."

The employees at WIVK and CFI Insulation teamed together to help Boatman with her much needed projects. The owner of CFI says he hopes to get more people involved so this type of support can be taken to other people in need.

"But don't forget Christmas, or forget that feeling that one time a year, you see what I'm saying? Try to get that feeling throughout the year that community and that effort," said Scott Dyke, with CFI.

Dyke says the real effort was inspired by Extreme Makeover when it was in Knoxville a few weeks back. He says that type of helping each other is what is needed. He hopes the program can expand and become a monthly or quarterly thing.

"I mean this is awesome, there's no better place or group of people than right there," added Boatman.

Anyone wanting more information can call Dyke at CFI insulation at 865-588-4464.
