A night of music helps local efforts to end Alzheimer's

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT)- Folks turned out Friday night in Oak Ridge, to support local efforts to fund Alzheimer's research.
And they got quite a treat.

Local county and bluegrass performers, like 15 year old Logan Murrell and businessman Jim Clayton- entertained music lovers at the Grove Theater.

The concert sponsored by The Courtyards senior living facilities- helped Alzheimer's Tennessee kick off fundraising efforts for their Alzheimer's walk season.

The organization says they couldn't think of a better way get things rolling.

Janice Wade-Whitehead of Alzheimer's Tennessee says, "we love music. In that music is a great therapy. We use it a lot with working with Alzheimer's community so it's universal and it speaks to a lot of people."

Alzheimer's Tennessee has a number of events that you can take part in set for the coming months.
