KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- Investigators are still not sure what caused a fire to break out at a home and business in Halls.
But the owner's family says they think it may have been intentionally set.
Six dogs died, when flames ripped through a home in the in the 45-hundred block of York Road in Halls around two o'clock Sunday morning.
That home also doubles as Violet's Pets and Grooming, a pet grooming business.
When Rural Metro crews arrived there were huge flames shooting through the roof.
The home's carport had already burned to the ground.
Family members say it was too late to save six dogs, all who were in a kennel inside the carport. That's where investigators think the blaze started.
A family member says some of the dogs belonged to the owner, while others belonged to clients.
Due to the extensive damage inside, the home is viewed as a loss.
The owner's sister was inside at the time.
Investigators were told some dogs were pulled from the burning home and that the home's water hose was frozen.
No people were hurt and it's not clear how quickly 911 was called after the fire broke out.
Rural Metro reminds you that if you have a fire, you should call 911 immediately.
