GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Gatlinburg has been touted as second only to Las Vegas as a wedding destination for hundreds of couples every Valentine's Day.
But for whatever reason, this was not a banner day for at least one wedding chapel.
Ferne Chase of In the Smokies Cabins and Chalets told Local 8 News ,"I ran a lot of really big specials, did a wedding package including pictures and a cabin at a very low rate and just no people coming here to get married."
Ferne says other Gatlinburg chapels had the same results.
She says she started seeing a decline three years ago.
But good news, they're very busy for March, April, June, and July.
